From the demands of rural life in Georgia, USA to Far East pleasures to horrors of war, It’s Incoming! is a true-life experience that showcases the triumph of perseverance over adversity. Rural life may be cherished by many people, I just didn’t happen to be one of them. To me farm chores were too repetitious and uninspiring. From my earliest memory, I loved the arts and the creative processes they encompassed. Attending college and immersing myself in the fine arts had long been my dream. Blessed with some artistic talent, I had the good fortune to be offered an art scholarship to a major university. Unfortunately, without additional support, I still lacked sufficient funds needed for ancillary expenses: food, lodging, transportation, and other incidentals.
E. A. Cooper served in the U.S. Marine Corps (1962-1966). Upon his return to civilian life, he earned an associate's degree in general education from Birdwood Junior College in Thomasville, Georgia (1968); a bachelor's degree in education (speech & drama major) from Georgia Southwestern College in Americus, Georgia (1971); and then attended The University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia where he pursued a master's program in journalism (radio, TV, & film major) and earned a doctorate degree in adult education (1977).
